Organize your fishing rods by building this simple wooden rack.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
- Two 1″ x 10″ x 32 1⁄2″ pine boards
- Two 1″ x 10″ x 34 1⁄2″ pine boards
- Two 1″ x 6″ x 34 1⁄2″ pine boards
- Tape measure
- Framing square
- Pencil
- Crosscut saw
- Drill
- 1 1⁄2″ hole-saw bit
- 62 1 1⁄2″ wood screws
- Four 2 1⁄2″ wood screws if you’re going to mount the rod rack on the wall
- Countersink bit
- 3⁄32″ drill bit for screw pilot holes
- Wood glue
- Wood filler and putty knife (optional)
- Sandpaper
- Wood finish of your choice
- Fishing rods
WHAT YOU’LL DO

Step 2: Determine the locations for the 1 1⁄2″ holes on both side boards (as shown), and drill them out.
Step 3: Cut out the rod slots on both side boards.

Step 5: Screw and glue the rod rack together. (If your screws are drilled in slightly past the wood surface, you can cover the screws with wood filler.)

Step 6: Sand the rod rack, and apply the wood finish of your choice. Stand the rod rack on the floor or mount it to the wall. Arrange your rods in the rack. Your fishing-rod rack is complete.
